The character is a drawing of a brown dog with a sweater and red shoes.
It resembles Brain Griffin from Family Guy as the character is standing on his own two feet.
The meme originated from 𝕏 user @PhillipBankss, who is a digital artist.
He draws with Clip Studio paint and uses a Wacom Bamboo Capture Pen and Touch Tablet.
On Oct 4, 2023, he posted a drawing of a dog with a grey sweater, green pants, and red shoes.
The character resembles Brain Griffin from Family Guy, except that he’s brown and has clothes.
He captioned it, “My new character. his whole deal is he’s a chill guy that lowkey doesn’t give a f*ck”.
The tweet got over 50k likes and more than 1.6 million impressions.
Although the drawing was posted in 2023, it resurfaced in late 2024 and became a meme.
The meme is about exaggerating someone’s chill or easy-going personality.
It’s also related to the “Nonchalant” meme that emphasizes calmness or being laid-back.

The video got over 17 million views, 2 million likes, and more than 300k shares.

On November 21, the creator of Chill Guy threatened to issue takedowns on for-profit-related entities.
Phillip received a ton of backlash from the crypto community with derogatory remarks.
Users claimed that he could’ve gotten millions of dollars in donations if he were to share his wallet address.
Instead, he chose to renounce the meme token and claimed that he was spammed with crypto tweets.
After the tweet was posted, the token crashed over 50% before rebounding.
