How to Fix App Not Installed on Android

An APK file (Android Package Kit) is used by the operating system of Android to install mobile apps.

An app’s APK file will be automatically installed when you download an app from the Google Play Store.

If an app is unavailable on the Google Play Store, you can download it from an external source.

However, installing an APK file is risky because it can contain harmful code or malware.

Before you download an APK file, you need to verify the source and review its permissions.

In this guide, you’ll learn how to fix the app not installed error and why the APK is not downloading on Android.

Why is the APK app not installed?

The APK app is not installed because you didn’t allow Chrome to install unknown apps.

The APK will also fail to install if you’ve enabled Play Protect or you don’t have enough storage space.

Play Protect is a security program on Android devices that will block installation.

If you have an incompatible Android version, the app will not be compatible with it.

Lastly, the file might be corrupted and will not install on your device.
