Are your apps not downloading on your new iPhone?
Or are your apps stuck on loading after an iPhone transfer?
Unfortunately, this is a known glitch on iOS devices.
To fix apps not downloading on a new iPhone, you need to change your iPhone language.
After you’ve changed your iPhone language, change it back after 5 minutes and your apps will start downloading.
I personally managed to fix the error by doing this.
I tried multiple methods to fix it including restarting my iPhone and signing out of my Apple account.
However, the only solution that got my apps to start downloading is by changing my iPhone’s language.
Here’s how to fix apps not downloading on a new iPhone:
- Go to your settings
- Go to “General”
- Tap on “Language & Region”
- Tap on “iPhone Language”
- Change your language
- After 5 minutes, change your language back
1. Go to your settings

Firstly, you need to go to your settings.
This is because you need to change your iPhone’s language in it.
Search for the “Settings” app on your iPhone.
Tap on “Settings” to open your iPhone settings.
2. Go to “General”

After you’ve tapped on “Settings”, you’ll land on your settings.
Now, you’ll see multiple options including “Airplane Mode”, “Wi-Fi”, “Bluetooth”, and more.
Scroll down until you see the “General” option.
Tap on “General” to go to your general settings.
3. Tap on “Language & Region”

After you’ve clicked on “General”, you’ll land on your general settings.
On your general settings, you’ll see multiple options.
This includes “About”, “Software Update”, “AirDrop”, and more.
Scroll down until you see the “Language & Region” option.
Tap on “Language & Region” to go to your language and region settings.
4. Tap on “iPhone Language”

After you’ve tapped on “Language & Region”, you’ll land on your language and region settings.
Now, you’ll change your iPhone’s language, region, calendar, and temperature unit.
To get your apps to start downloading, you need to change your iPhone’s language.
To start changing your iPhone’s language, tap on “iPhone Language”.
5. Change your language

After you’ve tapped on “iPhone Language”, you’ll land on the “iPhone Language” page.
The page contains a list of languages that you can change to.
Now, you need to change to another language.
It’s highly recommended that you change to a language that you’re familiar with.
Otherwise, you won’t be able to understand the text on your iPhone later on.
For example, if you speak English, you can choose the “English” language, but for another country.
In this example, we’ll change the language from “English (Singapore)” to “English (Australia)”.
Tap on “English (Australia)” to change your language.
If your language is set to “English (Australia)”, you can change it to “English (US)”.
6. After 5 minutes, change your language back

After you’ve changed your iPhone’s language, you need to wait for 5 minutes.
Once 5 minutes have passed, you need to change your language back.
You can do this by navigating to Settings > General > Language & Region > iPhone Language.
If your iPhone’s language was previously set to “English (Singapore)”, tap on “English (Singapore)” to change your language back.
Now, check whether your apps are downloading.
This time, your apps should be downloading quickly if you’re connected to Wi-Fi.
After about half an hour, all of your apps should be fully downloaded!
Conclusion
Editor’s note:
When I transferred my old iPhone to my new iPhone, all of my apps wouldn’t download.
I tried multiple solutions like restarting my new iPhone, signing out and in of my Apple account, and turning on airplane mode.
However, none of them managed to get my apps to start downloading.
The final solution I tried was changing my iPhone’s language.
After about 5 minutes, my apps started downloading (with Wi-Fi turned on)!
That’s when I decided to change my iPhone’s language back.
I came across this solution from a YouTube comment, so I thought I’d write a guide about it.
If changing your iPhone language doesn’t fix the downloading issue, you can try resetting your network.
To reset your network, navigate to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
