How to Fix Blank Screen Error on WhatsApp

In this guide, you’ll learn how to fix the blank screen or page error on WhatsApp chats on Android or iPhone.

How to Fix Blank Screen Error on WhatsApp

To fix the WhatsApp blank screen error, you must leave WhatsApp Beta and reinstall the app directly from the official website.

Alternatively, you can try uninstalling WhatsApp and reinstalling an older version of it from a third-party website.

Fix 1: Leave WhatsApp Beta and reinstall the app directly

  1. Open WhatsApp, tap on the three dots, and select “Settings”.
  2. Chats > Chat backup > Back up (this will back up your chats).
  3. Open the Play Store and search for “WhatsApp”.
  4. Scroll down and select “Leave” if you’re in the Beta program.
  5. Uninstall WhatsApp from your device.
  6. Go to whatsapp.com/download and select “Download WhatsApp directly”.
  7. Open WhatsApp and the error should be fixed.

Fix 2: Download an older version of WhatsApp

  1. Uninstall WhatsApp from your device (make sure to back up your chats first).
  2. Go to https://whatsapp-messenger.en.uptodown.com/android.
  3. Select “Older versions”, scroll down, and select “See more”.
  4. Select a version of WhatsApp that is older than November 1, 2024 (e.g. October 29, 2024).
  5. Tap on “Download” followed by “Download anyway”.
  6. Open the file that you’ve downloaded and tap on “Install”.
  7. Open WhatsApp and the error should be fixed.

Fix 3: Share a WhatsApp profile picture

  1. Open WhatsApp and tap on any profile picture.
  2. Tap on the info (i) icon.
  3. Select the 3 dots on the top right.
  4. Share it as a contact card to yourself or any other contact from the share menu.
  5. The error should be fixed.
