How to change a Pokemon’s Tera Type in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
To change a Pokemon’s Tera Type in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, you need to defeat Larry, the gym leader of the Medali Gym.
After you’ve defeated him, talk to the Chef in Treasure Eatery, select the type of Tera Shards, and select the Pokemon to feed.
Here’s how to do this:
- Defeat Larry, the gym leader of the Medali Gym.
- Farm Tera Shards from 5 or 6-star Tera Raids.
- Go to Treasure Eatery in Medali Town and talk to the Chef.
- Select the type of Tera Shards (e.g. Dragon Tera Shards).
- Select the Pokemon to feed the Shards to and confirm.
When you first talk to the Chef, he’ll give you 50 normal-type Tera Shards for free.
You can change the Tera Type of a Pokemon to normal.
However, if you want to change the Tera Type of a Pokemon to another Tera Type, you need to farm them from 5 or 6-star Tera Raids.
These raids can be unlocked after you’ve completed the game and won the Ace Academy Tournament respectively.
