How to Fix Discord Game Activity Not Showing

Is the Discord game activity icon/tab not showing or missing?

Many users are confused because the “Game Activity” option is gone.

The option used to be in the user settings, but it’s no longer there.

As a result, they can’t enable or disable their game activity.

In this guide, you’ll learn why the Discord game activity icon/tab is not showing and how to fix it.

Why is Discord game activity not showing?

The Discord game activity icon/tab is not showing because of a new Discord update.

The new update changed the location of the game activity tab.

It’s now located under “Activity Settings”.

“Activity Settings” is a new category that is introduced to your user settings.

It contains 3 tabs—Activity Privacy, Registered Games, and Game Overlay.

Hence, if you’re wondering why you can’t find the “Game Activity” tab, it’s because its location has changed.

How to fix Discord game activity not showing

To fix the Discord game activity icon/tab not showing, you need to navigate to its new location.

Its new location is at User Settings > Activity Settings > Activity Privacy.

The “Activity Privacy” page contains the “Display current activity as a status message”.

Previously, this option was located on the “Game Activity” page.

Now, you can either enable or disable the option to show your hide your game activity.

To find the game activity option on the Discord mobile app, tap on the smiley face icon > Activity Settings > Display current activity as a status message > Enable.

Step 1: Go to your user settings

  1. Open Discord on your PC.
  2. Log in to your Discord account.
  3. Click on the gear icon (User Settings) next to your Discord name.

The “Game Activity” option is not removed on Discord.

The location of it has changed after a new Discord update.

Hence, you still can find it in your user settings.

If you’re using the Discord mobile app, tap on the smiley face icon on the bottom navigation bar instead.

Step 2: Go to “Activity Privacy”

  1. Scroll down the left sidebar.
  2. Click on “Activity Privacy” under “Activity Settings”.
  3. Enable or disable “Display current activity as a status message”.

If you enable “Display current activity as a status message“, Discord will update your status based on the game that you’re playing.

If you disable it, Discord will not display the game that you’re playing as your status.

After you’ve updated your activity privacy settings, it’ll be automatically saved.

Click on the “Esc” icon to close your activity privacy settings and check your status.

You can check your status by clicking on your profile picture.

For example, if you’re playing Minecraft, your status will display that you’re playing Minecraft for x minutes.

If you’re using the Discord mobile app, you’ll be able to access your activity settings too.
