How to Download Midjourney Images

Midjourney is an independent research lab focused on exploring new ways of thinking and expanding human imagination.

Their small self-funded team is dedicated to design, human infrastructure, and AI.

They offer a Midjourney Bot on Discord, which users can interact with by typing commands.

These commands allow users to create images, modify settings, monitor user information, and perform other useful tasks.

The /imagine command specifically generates unique images based on short text descriptions known as prompts.

Users can simply type their desired image description, send the message, and receive the generated image.

In this guide, you’ll learn how to save or download Midjourney images in high quality or resolution on Discord (PC and mobile).

How to download Midjourney images

To download Midjourney images, you must first use the /imagine command and choose the image that you want to upscale.

After that, click on the upscaled image, right-click the image, select “Save Image”, and save the image to your computer.

The image will be automatically converted into a PNG file if you save it as “All Files”.

On a PC (expand the screenshots above):

  1. Use the /imagine command (e.g. /imagine a kid riding a bicycle in Japan).
  2. Choose the image that you want to upscale (e.g. U4).
  3. Click on the upscaled image (to expand it).
  4. Right-click the image and select “Save Image”.
  5. Save the image to your computer.

On a mobile device:

  1. Use the /imagine command (e.g. /imagine a kid riding a bicycle in Japan).
  2. Choose the image that you want to upscale (e.g. U4).
  3. Tap on the upscaled image.
  4. Tap and hold the image and select “Save”.

How to download Midjourney images in high quality

To download Midjourney images in high quality, you need to increase the quality of the image by using the quality parameter.

To use the quality parameter, you need to add the –q 2 parameter (the default quality is –q 1) at the end of the /imagine command.

  1. Use the /imagine command (e.g. /imagine burger).
  2. Add –q 2 at the end of the command (e.g. /imagine burger –q 2).
  3. Choose the image that you want to upscale.
  4. Click on the upscaled image (to expand it).
  5. Right-click the image and select “Save Image”.
  6. Save the image to your computer.

According to the Midjourney documentation, the latest version of the bot supports up to –q 2.

The quality parameter changes how much time is spent generating an image.

Higher-quality settings will take longer to process and generate more details.

The quality parameter does not affect the image’s resolution, but it increases the quality of the image.
