How to Fix ERR_GFX_D3D_NOD3D12 in Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced

How to Fix ERR_GFX_D3D_NOD3D12 in Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced

Fix 1: Update Direct X

  1. Go to https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=35.
  2. Select “Download” and run “dxwebsetup.exe”.
  3. Launch GTA V Enhanced.

Fix 2: Update the settings file

  1. Go to https://www.gta5-mods.com/misc/gta-v-balanced-settings-xml-mid-end-settings, download the settings file, and copy it.
  2. Navigate to the GTA V settings file (e.g. Documents > Rockstar Games > GTA V > Settings).
  3. Delete the current settings file and paste the new settings file you’ve just downloaded.
  4. Right-click the settings file and open it with Notepad.
  5. Scroll down and replace the middle of <VideoCardDescription>HERE</VideoCardDescription> with the name of your graphics card.
  6. Save the Notepad and launch GTA V Enhanced.

Fix 3: Install the graphics tool

  1. Search for “Settings” in Windows Search and open it.
  2. Navigate to System > Optional features > Add an optional feature > View features.
  3. Search for “Graphics Tools”, select it, select “Next”, and select “Install”.
  4. Restart your PC and launch GTA V Enhanced.

Fix 4: Force the game to launch in DirectX 11

  1. Go to https://github.com/tuffee88/d3d12ProxyEdrDx11_0/releases/tag/v0.3.
  2. Download the “03_release_binaries_release.zip” file.
  3. Open the file, right click “d3d12.dll” and select “Copy”.
  4. Navigate to the GTA V directory (e.g. This PC > Windows (C:) > Rockstar Games > Grand Theft Auto V).
  5. Right-click and select “Paste” to paste the d3d12.dll file.
  6. Launch GTA V Enhanced.
