Here’s how to Find a Permanent Source of Fuel Outside the City in Frostpunk 2:

  1. Build a Logistics Hub on a spot marked with a small compass icon in New London.
  2. Deploy 10 Frostland Teams to explore the Frozen Bay (west).
  3. After exploring Frozen Bay, two points of interest appear.
  4. Click the left one to learn about “The Others” and find a clue about a fuel source.
  5. This leads you to the Desolate Coast, marked with an exclamation mark.
  6. Send an expedition there, and while waiting, keep your workforce busy.
  7. After fully exploring Desolate Coast, more points will appear.
  8. Select the middle one to find the Old Dreadnought.
  9. Select “We Found Oil!” to secure a fuel source and start a colony at the Old Dreadnought.
