How to hide reactions on Facebook
To hide reactions on Facebook, you need to navigate to the “Reaction preferences” setting.
In the reaction preferences setting, you can choose to hide the number of reactions on your posts and other people’s posts.
To do so, you need to enable “On posts from others” and “On your posts”.
By enabling them, reactions will be hidden on posts from others and on your posts.
By enabling “On posts from others”, you won’t be able to see reactions from others.
On the other hand, if you enable “On your posts”, your reactions will be hidden under posts that you share on your profile.
However, reaction counts will still appear in certain places like groups or reels.
Here are 3 steps to hide reactions on Facebook:
1. Open the Facebook app and go to your settings

To begin with, you need to open the Facebook mobile app and log in to your account.
You can also use the desktop version of Facebook for this.
For the purpose of this guide, we’ll use the Facebook mobile app instead.
Once you’re on the Facebook mobile app, tap on the menu icon on the bottom navigation bar.
This will open the Facebook menu containing multiple options.
Scroll down the menu and tap on “Settings & Privacy” to expand it.
Under “Settings & Privacy”, you’ll see 4 options.
This includes “Settings”, “Device requests”, “Recent ad activity”, and “Find Wi-Fi”.
Since you’re looking to hide reactions, tap on “Settings”.
2. Tap on “Reaction preferences”

After you’ve tapped on “Settings”, you’ll land on the “Settings & Privacy” page.
On the page, you can modify your account settings and preferences.
This includes your account information, password, reaction preferences, and more.
Under the “Preferences” header, tap on “Reaction preferences” to go to your reaction preferences.
3. Enable both preferences

After you’ve tapped on “Reaction preferences”, you’ll see a couple of options.
This includes “On posts from others” and “On your posts”.
By default, both of the options are disabled.
Hence, if you want to hide reactions on Facebook, you need to enable both of them.
When you enable “On posts from others”, you won’t see the total number of reactions for posts others share to your News Feed, pages, and groups.
However, you will still see reaction counts for posts in other places such as Marketplace, and for other content, such as reels.
In addition, your reaction to a post will still be visible to you and everyone else unless you enable “On your posts”.
By enabling “On your posts”, other people won’t see the total number of reactions under posts you share to your profile.
However, reaction counts will still appear on your posts in other places like groups or reels.
After you’ve enabled “On posts from others” and “On your posts”, reactions will be hidden on Facebook!
How do I make my likes private on Facebook?
- Open the Facebook mobile app and log in to your account.
- Tap on the menu icon.
- Scroll down and tap on “Settings & Privacy”.
- Tap on “Settings”.
- Under “Preferences”, tap on “Reaction preferences”.
- Enable “On posts from others” and “On your posts”.
Who can see my likes and comments on Facebook?
Anyone can see your likes and comments on Facebook.
However, the person who posts something will be able to control who can see it.
This includes sharing the post to a specific audience like friends only or the public.
Keep in mind that the person will also be able to change the audience at any time.
For example, they can change the audience of the post from “Friends” to “Public”.
If the audience of the post is set to “Public”, anyone will be able to see its likes and comments.
On the other hand, if the audience of the post is set to “Friends”, only the person’s friends will be able to see its likes and comments.
Conclusion
Reactions are a great way to express yourself on Facebook.
However, if your posts don’t get much engagement, it’s a good idea to hide them.
This is because there is no point in enabling reactions if you don’t get much.
Facebook allows you to hide reactions on posts from others and on your posts.
When you hide reactions, you can choose to re-enable them at any time.
