How to Fix iPhone Notes Missing or Disappeared

Is your iOS/iPhone notes missing, disappeared, or not showing up even though you didn’t delete them?

This issue is faced by many iOS users (including me) and it’s typically caused by the new iCloud terms and conditions.

It can also be caused by iCloud being unsynced with your notes, which prevents you from viewing them.

I’ve spent a while finding a solution for this, and I managed to find a few fixes that will get your notes back again.

In this guide, you’ll learn how to fix iOS or iPhone notes missing, disappeared, or not showing up (no recently deleted, after sync, or update).

How to Fix iPhone Notes Missing or Disappeared

To fix iPhone Notes missing or disappeared, you must accept the new iCloud terms and conditions (there is a known bug with it).

You can also try syncing your notes with iCloud or recovering your notes from the “Recently Deleted” folder.

Fix 1: Accept the new iCloud terms and conditions

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
  2. Select your name at the top (to access Apple ID, iCloud, Media & Purchases).
  3. Select “iCloud” and you should see a prompt requiring you to accept the new terms and conditions.
  4. Accept the new iCloud terms and conditions.
  5. Open the Notes app and check if your notes are recovered!

Note: This is a glitch with the new iCloud terms and conditions that requires you to accept it before you can see your notes.

Fix 2: Sync your notes with iCloud

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
  2. Select your name at the top (to access Apple ID, iCloud, Media & Purchases).
  3. Select “Show All” under “Apps Using iCloud”.
  4. Select “Notes”.
  5. Turn on “Sync this iPhone”.
  6. Open the Notes app and check if your notes are recovered!

Fix 3: Recover recently deleted notes

  1. Open the Notes app on your iPhone.
  2. Select “< Folders” on the top navigation bar.
  3. Open the “Recently Deleted” folder.
  4. Select “Edit” and select the notes you want to recover.
  5. Select “Move” and select “Notes” to recover your notes!
