How to Fix Login to Battle.net Stuck in a Refresh Loop
To fix login to Battle.net stuck in a refresh loop, you need to continue offline, launch a game, and log into it.
You can also try switching your region (e.g. from Asia to Americas) in the login screen by clicking on the gear icon.
Fix 1: Continue offline and launch a game
- Wait until you get the “Could not log in to the Blizzard app” error.
- Select “Continue Offline”.
- Launch a game like Overwatch 2, Hearthstone, etc.
- When prompted, log in to the game using your Battle.net account.
- Close Battle.net, reopen it, and log in as normal.
Note: You can also manually start the app in offline mode by clicking on the gear icon followed by “Continue Without Logging In”.
Editor’s note: When your Battle.net log in times out, you’ll have two options—retry or continue offline.
If you select “Retry”, you won’t be able to log in and you’ll get the same error message again.
On the other hand, if you select “Continue Offline”, you’ll be able to access the Battle.net app where you can launch a game.
By launching a game like Overwatch 2 in offline mode, you’ll be promoted to log in using your Battle.net account.
After you’ve logged in, the game will start in online mode and the Battle.net log in issue will also be fixed.
Fix 2: Change your region
- On the Battle.net loading screen, select the gear icon.
- Change your region under “Login Region”.
- Wait for a few seconds.
- Try to log in to your Battle.net account again.
Editor’s note: Changing regions is an easy way to fix Battle.net login issues.
For example, if your region is “Asia”, try switching to “Americas” and wait for a few seconds.
After waiting for a few seconds, the login button and social icons should appear.
Before you launch a game, make sure to switch back to your original region.
