The World Cup is an international football tournament that takes place once every 4 years.

It took place in Qatar from 20 November to 18 December 2022.

This makes it the first World Cup to be held in the Middle East.

It’s estimated that it cost over $220 billion for Qatar to host the World Cup, making it the most expensive World Cup ever held.

That said, its true cost has been disputed as the organizing CEO said that it’s $8 billion.

A video that went viral is a Moroccan Girl saying “Poor Ronaldo” after a match between Portugal and Morocco.

Portugal lost to Morocco by 1-0 and Cristiano Ronaldo exited early from the tournament.

Moroccan Girl’s Mom Apologizes

Many Portugal fans are mad about a girl saying “Where’s Ronaldo? He’s crying in his car” after Portugal’s defeat against Morocco.

The short video compiled clips of Moroccan fans mocking Ronaldo.

In the clips, Morocco fans gloat over Morocco’s victory and signaled where the airport is to Portugal.

The video went viral on social media platforms like TikTok, Twitter, and Instagram.

On YouTube, the video got over 77k views and over 1,000 comments.

Here are some of the comments, “That kid is so annoying bruh. Mbappe will go crazy against Morocco”, “This completely changes my view of Moroccans. Your ego is gonna be your demise”, and “When Kylian beats them I want to see her reaction”.

A famous streamer, iShowSpeed, reacted to the clip of the girl.

Someone posted his reaction on TikTok and it got over 22 million views.

Here’s what the girl said in the video, “Portugal airport is that way. And where’s Ronaldo? He’s crying in his car, poor Ronaldo”.

Here are some of the reactions to the clip, “Girl I think it’s past your bedtime”, “Why is she staring at me like that”, and “Ronaldo could buy them”.

The most popular video of the girl is an edit showcasing Kylian Mbappé.

Since Morocco won over Portugal, they are up against France in the semi-finals.

Mbappé is arguably one of the best players in the world, along with Messi and Ronaldo.

The video got over 40 million views, 4.5 million likes, and over 69k comments—but it eventually got taken down.

A few days later, an audio clip of the girl’s mother surfaced and she apologized on behalf of her daughter.

The mother said that the girl does not who Ronaldo is and was simply following what other Morrocan fans are saying.

Here’s what she said, “She is now going through a very difficult psychological state and to the point where she refuses to eat or speak because of the comments”.

“I assure you that my daughter did not mean to insult the player, Cristiano Ronaldo because she does not know anything about football”.

“She was only repeating what she was hearing around her”.

“She is still young, she’s nine years old, and she wanted to express her joy, but unfortunately, she was a victim of social media”.

“I apologize to all of Cristiano Ronaldo’s fans for what happened”.

“Please consider her as your younger sister because she was not serious about what she said”.
