Is “Make a new friend” not working in the Misunderstood Mischief Quest in Pokemon GO?

Or are you unable to complete the “Make 3 new friends” task even though you already added 3 friends?

A lot of users reported that they are unable to complete the quest even though they’ve added a lot of friends.

Restarting the game, unfriending and re-adding people, or changing your buddy does not work.

This is due to a bug in the game that Niantic has yet to fix.

To fix Pokemon Go make a new friend not working, you need to contact Niantic support.

You can also try resynchronizing the game data in the advanced settings menu.

A Reddit user by the name of “KuronixFirhyx” said that he managed to fix the bug by contacting them.

He also mentioned that Niantic probably fixed the issue on their end.

When you start a chat, you’ll be greeted by a chatbot.

To get a human response, you need to keep saying that you’re not satisfied with the bot’s response.

  1. Open Pokemon GO.
  2. Tap on the Pokeball.
  3. Select “Settings”.
  4. Tap on the help bubble.
  5. Select “Contact Us”.
  6. Describe your issue (e.g. can’t complete the make a new friend quest).

Due to the high volume of support requests, it may take a while for a representative to help you.

After you’ve selected “I still need help” a few times, you’ll be prompted to describe your issue.

You’ll then get a human response after 24 to 48 hours.

If you’re unable to reach the support team, you need to wait for a Pokemon GO update that fixes the issue.

For now, you don’t have to do anything and let the quest be.

According to Niantic Support, they are currently investigating the issue where the “Making new friends” tasks are not marked as completed in the Misunderstood Mischief quest.

In the meantime, you can go to the Niantic Support website to see if the bug is fixed.

The website contains a list of known issues that are currently being investigated by their engineering team.

The list will be updated regularly and bugs will be removed if they are fixed.
