Weapon Camouflage, or Camo, is a colored pattern that is applied to weapons.
This will allow your weapons to blend into environments or display your achievements.

What is the Polyatomic Camo in MW2?
The Polyatomic Camo in MW2 is a purplish-black camouflage.
It’s one of 4 completionist camos in the game.
The other 3 are Gold, Platinum, and Orion.
The Polyatomic Camo Challenge is available for every weapon class including assault rifles, SMGs, and more.
How to unlock Polyatomic Camo in Modern Warfare 2
To unlock the Polyatomic Camo in Modern Warfare 2, you need to first unlock the Platinum Camo for every weapon (a minimum of 51 weapons) in the game.
After you’ve unlocked the Platinum Camo for every weapon in the game, you’ll unlock the Polyatomic Camo Challenge (e.g. get x headshots using a specific weapon).
Before that, you need to unlock the Platinum Camo Challenge by completing the Gold Camo Challenges for every weapon class.
Here is the full process to unlock it:
- Complete all 4 Base Camo Challenges for a specific weapon (e.g. M4) to unlock the Gold Camo Challenge for it.
- Get 2-3 eliminations without dying 10 times for a specific weapon (e.g. M4) to unlock the Gold Camo for it.
- Repeat the first two steps and complete all Gold Camo Challenges for all weapon classes.
- Complete the Platinum Challenge (e.g. get 25 longshot eliminations) for all weapons (a minimum of 51 weapons) to unlock Polyatomic Camo Challenges.
- Complete a Polyatomic Camo Challenge for a specific weapon to unlock the Polyatomic Camo for it (e.g. get 20 headshots for a specific weapon).
A Gold Camo Challenge can be unlocked by completing all 4 Base Camo Challenges for a specific weapon (e.g. M4).
When you’ve unlocked the Gold Camo for every assault rifle in the game, you’ll unlock the Platinum Camo Challenge for all assault rifles.
The Platinum Camo Challenge is usually to get 25 longshot eliminations using a specific weapon.
After you’ve got 25 longshot eliminations, you’ll unlock the Platinum Camo for that weapon.
Unlock the Platinum Camo for all weapons (a minimum of 51 weapons) to unlock the Polyatomic Camo Challenge.
An example of a challenge is to get 20 headshots using a specific weapon to unlock the Polyatomic Camo for it.
