How to Solve “Your password must include a leap year” in The Password Game

The Password Game is a web-based puzzle browser game created by Neal Agarwal.

Players must create a password that adheres to increasingly absurd and complex rules.

The game features 35 rules, with requirements like using Roman numerals, country names, or emojis.

Players must follow all previous rules to progress, making some requirements conflicting.

The game gained popularity for its absurdity and commentary on password policies.

In this guide, you’ll learn how to solve “Your password must include a leap year” in The Password Game.

How to Solve “Your password must include a leap year” in The Password Game

Rule 15: Your password must include a leap year.

Solution: 2024, 2020, 2016, 2012, 2008, or 2004, etc.

Explanation: Leap years happen every four years once (e.g. 2024).

It adds an extra day in February (February 29) to keep the calendar year synchronized with the astronomical year.

You need to add the year in your password with spaces for it to work.

Do note that Rule 15 conflicts with Rule 5 (The digits in your password must add up to 25).

To solve both Rule 15 and Rule 5, you can include “2024 98” in your answer as 2 + 2 + 4 + 9 + 8 = 25.
