Fix 1: Update the YouTube app

  1. Open the App Store or Google Play Store.
  2. Search for “YouTube” and open it.
  3. Select “Update” to update the app.
  4. Open the YouTube app and check if Shorts comments are showing.

Fix 2: Clear YouTube’s cache

  • For iPhone: Open the Settings app > General > iPhone Storage > YouTube > Offload App > Offload App > Reinstall App.
  • For Android: Open the Settings app > Apps > App management > YouTube > Force stop > Storage usage > Clear data > Clear cache.

Fix 3: Uninstall and reinstall YouTube

  1. Tap and hold the YouTube app.
  2. Select “Remove app” or “Uninstall”.
  3. Open the App Store or Google Play Store.
  4. Search for “YouTube” and reinstall it.

Fix 4: Download an older version of YouTube (Android only)

  1. Delete the Instagram app on your Android device.
  2. Go to https://instagram.en.uptodown.com/android/versions.
  3. Select an older version of YouTube (e.g. 1 month ago).
  4. Select “Download” to download the APK.
  5. Open YouTube and log in to your account.
  6. Check if YouTube Shorts comments are showing.
