How to Fix Can’t Invite Friends in Overwatch 2

Are you unable to invite friends to your group in Overwatch 2?

If so, you won’t be able to play together with them.

You can’t invite friends to your group in Overwatch 2 because either you or your friend haven’t updated the game.

If Overwatch 2 has an update, you and your friend need to update the game to play with each other.

In some cases, the game might not automatically update.

If that’s the case, you need to either check for updates or switch to beta mode.

How to fix can’t invite friends in Overwatch 2

To fix can’t invite friends in Overwatch 2, you need to update the game or switch to the beta version of Battle.net.

If you’re already using the beta version of Battle.net, switch to the standard version instead.

This will force the game to automatically update.

You can also try inviting your friend from the general chat using “/invite BattleTag” (e.g. /invite Russ#11490).

Do note that both you and your friend need to have the updated version of Overwatch 2 to play together.

Method 1: Switch to the beta version of Battle.net

  1. Exit Overwatch 2.
  2. Launch Battle.net.
  3. Click on the Battle.net logo.
  4. Select “Settings”.
  5. Select “Beta”.
  6. Click on the “Switch to Beta” button (or switch to standard if you’re already in beta).

Note: If you’re already in the beta version, switch to the standard version instead.

After you’ve clicked on the “Switch to Beta” button, the client will restart.

Lastly, launch Overwatch 2 and you will be able to play with your friends.

Method 2: Use /invite in the general chat

  1. Launch Overwatch 2.
  2. Press “Enter” to open the general chat.
  3. Type “/invite BattleTag” (e.g. invite Russ#11490).
