This is because Roblox does not provide that feature.

How to change your Roblox background
To change your Roblox background, you need to add Stylish to Chrome.
Stylish allows you to customize any website to your color scheme in one click.
There are thousands of user styles with beautiful themes, skins, and free backgrounds.
You can choose from thousands of themes from popular websites like Roblox, YouTube, and Facebook.
You can also customize website backgrounds, color schemes, skins, and more.
The Stylish Chrome extension has over 3 million downloads.
After you’ve added the extension to Chrome, you need to allow Stylish to know which URLs you visit.
You also need to sign in to Google to get 3 free styles.
Lastly, click on “I’ll take THREE styles” to use the free plan.
Here’s how to change your Roblox background with the Stylish Chrome extension:
1. Add Stylish to Chrome
The first step is to add Stylish to Chrome.
To do so, you need to visit the extension’s page and click on “Add to Chrome”.
Keep in mind that you won’t be able to change your background on the Roblox mobile app.
In addition, you cannot use other browsers like Microsoft Edge or Firefox.
You’ll only be able to change your background on the Roblox website on Chrome.
Stylish allows you to change the background of any website including Roblox.

2. Install a theme that you like
After you’ve added Stylish to Chrome, you’ll land on the welcome page.
The welcome page requires you to allow Stylish to know which URLs to visit.
Here’s the full agreement, “Browsing available styles for each visited web page requires Stylish to know which URLs you visit. The URLs are trimmed and hashed for anonymization.”
To continue, click on “Start Browsing the Styles”.
After you’ve clicked on “Start Browsing the Styles”, you’ll land on the sign-in page.
Now, you need to sign in with your Google account.
You’ll then land on the payment page where you’ll be prompted to pay for the unlimited plan.
But don’t worry, you don’t need to go for the unlimited plan.
Instead, you can opt for the free plan where you’ll get 3 free styles.
To do so, click on “I’ll take THREE styles” at the bottom of the page.
You’ll then be redirected to the Stylish website.
On the website, click on “Roblox” on the left sidebar and select a theme that you like.
For example, you can install the “Pixelated City by FAETALIC” theme by clicking on “Install Style”.
3. Go to Roblox.com and check the background
After you’ve clicked on “Install Style”, the theme will be installed.
The theme will also be automatically enabled on the Roblox website.
To check, go to the Roblox website and log in to your account.
Once you’re on the Roblox website, your background should be changed to the one that you’ve just installed.
If your background automatically changed, you need to open the Stylish Chrome extension and enable it manually.
To do so, click on the puzzle icon and click on “Pin” next to Stylish to pin the extension.
After you’ve pinned Stylish, click on it, click on “Installed”, and click on the switch to make it “Active”.
This will activate the theme on the Roblox website!
How to change your Roblox theme
- Go to the Roblox website and log in to your account.
- Click on the Settings icon on the top navigation bar.
- Click on “Settings” to go to your settings.
- Navigate to “Theme” and click on the dropdown box.
- Click on “Dark” to change your theme to a dark theme.
- Click on “Light” to change your theme to a light theme.
- Save your changes by clicking on “Save”.
You can only choose between two themes on the Roblox website.
This includes the light theme or the dark theme.
By default, the light theme is automatically enabled.
If you want to set a custom image as your Roblox background, you need to use the Stylish Chrome extension.

If you’re using the free plan, you can only install up to 3 styles.
If you already have 3 styles, you need to uninstall a style to install another one.
