Changing your server or region in Overwatch 2 allows you to skip queues or have a lower ping.
For example, if the Americas region is full, you can switch to the Asia region instead.
However, many players don’t know how to change their in-game region.
Overwatch 2 was released on October 4, 2022.
Since its release, the game has had multiple known issues.
Some of the known issues are server disconnection, cosmetics, items, currency not showing up, and others.
In this guide, you’ll learn how to change your server region in Overwatch 2 for PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox.
Can you change your region in Overwatch 2 for consoles?
No, you cannot change your region in Overwatch 2 for consoles.
This is because Overwatch 2 does not support region-changing for PS4, PS5, or Xbox.
You can only change your region if you’re playing the game on a PC.
This can be done via the Battle.net desktop app (not in-game).
How to change server region in Overwatch 2
To change the server region in Overwatch 2, you need to first open the Battle.net desktop app.
After you’ve opened the app, select “Overwatch 2” and click on the “Globe” icon.
Lastly, select the region that you want to change to (e.g. Asia).
Here’s how to do this:
- Open the Battle.net desktop app.
- Select “Overwatch 2”.
- Click on the “Globe” icon next to the game version.
- Select the region that you want to change to (e.g. Asia).
It’s highly recommended that you change to a region where you’re closest.
For example, if you’re living in Singapore, you should select the “Asia” region.
On the other hand, if you’re living in the United States, you should select the “Americas” region.
This will lower your ping—which will provide a smoother experience in-game.
Do note that you can only change your region on a PC and not on consoles (e.g., PS4, PS5, Xbox).
