MetaMask is a cryptocurrency wallet that you can use to interact with the Ethereum blockchain.
The wallet supports any Ethereum-based token (e.g, ERC20, 721).
Although it’s mainly used to interact with the Ethereum blockchain, you can connect it to the Binance Smart Chain as well.
That way, you’ll be able to send or receive BNB on MetaMask.
In addition, you can swap BNB for another token on a decentralized exchange like PancakeSwap using MetaMask.
In this guide, you’ll learn how to connect MetaMask to Binance Smart Chain (BSC) so you can send or receive BNB.
How to connect MetaMask to Binance Smart Chain (BSC)

This is because you need the recovery phrase to access your MetaMask wallet in the future.
Lastly, you need to verify your recovery phrase to complete the wallet creation process.
2. Navigate to “Networks” & add a new network

After you’ve created a new wallet, you’ll land on the “Account 1” page.
Currently, your wallet is connected to the Ethereum network (this is by default).
Hence, you’ll see the Ethereum icon followed by your Ethereum balance on the page.
To connect to the Binance Smart Chain (BSC) network, you need to manually add it to MetaMask.

On your Network Settings, you’ll see a few networks that you can configure.
This includes “Ethereum Mainnet”, “Rapsten Test Network”, “Rinkeby Test Network”, and others.
There isn’t a Binance network, so you’ll have to manually add it.
To do so, click on the “Add Network” button on the top navigation bar.
3. Add the “Smart Chain” network

After you’ve clicked on “Add Network”, you’ll see multiple fields that you need to provide.
This includes “Network Name”, “New RPC URL”, “Chain ID”, “Currency Symbol (optional)”, and “Block Explorer URL (optional)”.
