How to evolve Scyther into Scizor in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

To evolve Scyther into Scizor in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, you need to get a Metal Coat from the Delibird Presents shop in Levincia.

After you’ve got a metal coat, equip it for Scyther, trade Scyther with your friend, and it will evolve into Scizor.

Here’s how to evolve Scyther:

  1. Go to Levencia.
  2. Go to Delibird Presents (the red-colored shop).
  3. Select “Battle items”.
  4. Buy a Metal Coat for 3,000 Pokedollars.
  5. Equip the Metal Coat for Scyther.
  6. Trade Scyther with your friend and it will evolve into Scizor.

To trade with your friend, press X > L > A > Poke Portal > Link Trade.

You can either search for a trade (if your friend is nearby) or set a 4 to 8-digit link code.

Do note that Scyther will only evolve if it has a Metal Coat equipped.
