What Do the Eyes Mean on Your Snapchat Story

Snapchat introduced a paid version of their app—Snapchat Plus.

If you’ve recently started a free trial for Snapchat Plus, you’ll have access to all of its features.

The eyes, eye emoji (đź‘€), or the double eyes is one of the features.

If you’ve posted a story, you might have noticed the eye emoji if you check who viewed it.

There will also be a number next to the eyes—but what does it mean?

In this guide, you’ll learn what do the eyes (đź‘€) mean on your Snapchat story and how to turn it on or off.

What do the eyes mean on your Snapchat story?

Eyes meaning on Snapchat story

The eyes on your Snapchat story show how many people have rewatched your story.

For example, if you see the number “10” next to the eye emoji (e.g. đź‘€10), it means that 10 of your friends have rewatched your story.

However, it does not count multiple rewatches from one person.

If someone rewatches your story 3 times, it’ll only count as one rewatch.

As a Snapchat Plus subscriber, you can see who rewatched posts to Your Story, Private Stories, and Shared Stories.

However, you need to turn the “Story Rewatch Count” on.

Keep in mind that the rewatch indicator does not show which friends rewatched your story.

In other words, you won’t be able to know the names of the people who watched your story twice.

Snapchat might change this in a future update.

How to turn on/off the eyes on your Snapchat story

Turn on eyes Snapchat
  1. Open Snapchat and go to your profile.
  2. Tap on the “Snapchat+” membership card.
  3. Tap on “Story Rewatch Count” to turn it on or off.

To enable “Story Rewatch Count”, you need to subscribe to Snapchat+.

Snapchat+ has a free 7-day trial where you can activate.

In that 7 days, you’ll have all of the subscription’s features.

However, you need to cancel the subscription if you don’t want it to renew.

If you cancel the subscription before 7 days, you’ll still have the Snapchat+ features.

Your features will be no longer active after the 7-day trial.

To learn more, you can visit the Snapchat Help Center.
