How to fix “Failed to create directory” error 3 in Roblox
To fix “Failed to create directory” error 3 in Roblox, you need to clear Roblox’s cache.
After you’ve cleared Roblox’s cache, create a new folder named “Downloads” inside the Roblox folder.
Lastly, you need to enable “Disable fullscreen optimizations” and “Run this program as an administrator” for the Roblox Player Launcher and the Roblox Player Beta.
Step 1: Clear Roblox’s cache
- Press WIN + R on your keyboard.
- Search for “%localappdata%”.
- Open the “Temp” folder.
- Delete the “Roblox” folder.
Note: If you can’t find the “Roblox” folder, you can delete everything inside the Temp folder instead.
Step 2: Create a new folder named “Downloads”
- In the same folder, go back to the “Local” folder.
- Open the “Roblox” folder.
- Right-click > New > Folder.
- Name the folder “Downloads”.
Step 3: Change the compatibility settings
- In the same Roblox folder, open the “Versions” folder.
- Open the version folder (it looks something like this: “version-7b56ddc375a46c6”).
- Right-click RobloxPlayerLauncher > Properties > Compatibility.
- Enable “Disable fullscreen optimizations” and “Run this program as an administrator” > Apply > OK.
- Right-click RobloxPlayerBeta > Properties > Compatibility.
- Enable “Disable fullscreen optimizations” and “Run this program as an administrator” > Apply > OK.
- Launch Roblox and the error will be fixed!
