How to Fix “Failed to start BattlEye service” in Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced
Fix 1: Disable “Run as an administrator”
- Search for “Rockstar Games Launcher” using Windows Search and select “Open file location”.
- Right-click “Rockstar Games Launcher” and select “Open file location” again.
- Right-click “LauncherPatcher”, select “Compatibility” and uncheck “Run this program as an administrator”.
- Right-click “Launcher”, select “Compatibility” and uncheck “Run this program as an administrator”.
- Launch GTA V.
Note: If “Run this program as an administrator” is already unchecked, try checking it.
Fix 2: Reinstall BattlEye
- Open the Rockstar Games Launcher and select “Settings”.
- Uncheck “BattleEye” and close the launcher.
- Type “cmd” using Windows Search and select “Run as administrator”.
- Type “sc delete beservice” (without quotation marks) and press Enter.
- Restart your PC and navigate to the GTA V directory (e.g. (e.g. This PC > Windows (C:) > Rockstar Games > Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced > BattlEye).
- Double-click BEService_x64 to reinstall BattlEye and launch GTA V.
