Why is Find My Device not working?
Find My Device is not working because your Google account is not linked.
The app will also not work if your location is off or you’ve hidden your device.
The Find My Device app also needs to be enabled in your settings.

If that’s the case, you need to wait for a follow-up update to fix those bugs/glitches.
How to fix Find My Device not working
To fix Find My Device not working, you can either try to clear the app’s cache or update the app.
You can also try to turn on your location, turn on the app, or unhide your device.
Fix 1: Clear Find My Device’s cache
Clear Find My Device’s cache:
- Open the Settings app.
- Apps > See All Apps > Find My Device.
- Storage & cache > Clear storage > Clear cache > Force stop.
Clear Google Play service’s cache:
- Open the Settings app.
- Apps > See All Apps > Google Play services.
- Storage & cache > Manage space > Clear all data > Force stop.
After you’ve cleared both Find My Device’s and Google Play service’s cache, restart your phone.
Lastly, open the Find My Device app, log in to your Google account, and allow the app to access your location.
Fix 2: Update Find My Device
- Open the Google Play Store.
- Search for “Find My Device”.
- Select “Update” if there’s an update.
Fix 3: Turn on your location
- Open the Settings app.
- Select “Location”.
- Turn on your location.
Fix 4: Turn on Find My Device
- Open the Settings app.
- Select “Security” followed by “Find My Device”.
- Turn on “Find My Device”.
Fix 5: Unhide your device
- Go to https://play.google.com/library/devices.
- Check the “Show In Menus” box at the top left.
