How to Get All Followers in Mad Island

In Mad Island, players craft, explore, build, farm, fish, capture creatures, and battle to escape an island.

After a cruise shipwreck, you wake on an island with another protagonist, switching between them as you search for friends.

The island has enemies who can become allies and hosts natives who can be enslaved for labor.

Customize characters, craft various items, and level up skills through battles and exploration.

In this guide, you’ll learn how to unlock or get all followers in Mad Island (make friends like Shino, Reika, Keigo, Cassie, and more).

Overview

At the start of the game, you will be at the bottom of the island on the beach (blue flag).
This is the starter area and it’s the easiest part of the game.
As you explore further, mobs will be higher in level, deal more damage, and have more health.
You need to fight multiple bosses to progress through the game.
Key items are needed to progress the game and improve your base.
Books create new workbenches and gems are combined to open a late-game door.
You can do green fog events as any of the two main characters.
Pink Fog = Yona/Fem MC.
Blue Fog = Man/Male MC.

Reika & Keigo

To start the Reika, Keigo, and Takumi encounter, get past the old man by going around, fighting him, or even flag skip exploit.
From the starting beach, you can go east, cross the bridge, and walk until you see a tent.
Defeat the Old Man to get the Man Bench Recipe.
Once you get past the Old Man, go north of his tent to trigger the Reika & Keigo encounter.
The “Observe” or “Scream” options won’t affect the outcome of the questline but determines what scene you want to see (either way, they both run up and get ambushed by Takumi).
Once they finish, head into the swamp and hug the right side until you reach the next event.

Observing will lead to Keigo breaking up with Reika afterward due to the scene that happens.
Intervening will skip the scene and lead to Keigo and Reika arguing in the next scene.
Defeat Takumi in the fight and he runs to the north.
This choice won’t happen if you choose to observe before fighting Takumi.
Keigo and Reika will argue and here you can choose to side with Keigo or side with Reika.
If you side with Keigo you will break off their relationship (this allows the Male MC to romance Reika).
If you side with Reika they reconcile and another event can be triggered south of their camp.
In this new event, you can allow them to get back together or not (interrupting will lead back to the Male MC quest).

Male MC Romance:

When you have successfully broken off Reika and Keigo’s relationship, switch to the Male MC and go back to the beach where Yona/Fem MC fought Takumi.
There should be a blue marker on the map to indicate the event where Male MC can talk to Reika.
To start the conversation, however, you need to raise your affinity with Reika.
Dancing can raise her affinity with you (a love potion should be enough, if not you can just dance (Q) until she likes you).
In the event Reiko is saddened by her recent break-up, here the Male MC can insult Keigo or console Reika.
Insulting Keigo would make Reika angry with you and end the questline while consoling her will continue into the next event.
- Yes and No will just exit the dialogue and still leave the event open.
- I Love Reika will continue into the next event where you have to confront Keigo about your relationship with Reika.
- I love Reika will start a fight with Keigo.
- Give Up exits dialogue and the event will stay.
- I just wanna f*** her will start a fight with Keigo.
After you defeat Keigo, depending on if you insult or profess your love to Reika can affect what happens.
- I Love Reika: Observing will have Reika walk in and cement her break up with Keigo. Afterwards you can start a scene with Reika.
- I just wanna k*ll her: Observing will have Reika walk in and break off her relationship with both of you. This ends the questline.
However if you k*ll Keigo in both options, Reika walks in and asks what happened to Keigo.
Both of these options would still lead to a Reika romance despite what you say to Keigo, she’s completely oblivious to your insult.
She accepts both truth and lie and you get Keigo’s locket (2x player DMG dealt to enemies) afterwards.

Takumi

To recruit Takumi, you need to finish his quest.
Just north of where you fought him, you can encounter his private harem where you will have to repeat his boss fight.
Both options here do the same thing here, leaving skips some lines of dialogue.
The choices after are Obeying his wishes which gets you a Yona death screen which makes you respawn.
K*lling him just k*lls him.
If you tie him up you will need to give him x10 of any food and put it directly into his inventory (berries, grilled meat, etc).
If he successfully lives, you’ll receive the Transceiver.

Shino

Prerequisite: Steak Set(Meal) | 1x raw beef, 1x onion, 1x potato, 1x berry.
Shino’s camp is located in the North-East of the map in a little entry-way at the bottom mound, just below where the grass turns a blueish color.
Here it starts your first encounter with Shino.
After the dialogue, she will then move to the north mound where you have to go around and over (the event is visible on the map).
After this scene, return to her camp during the night to start the third event to decide what to do with her.
- 1. Leave will exit dialogue.
- 2. Sarcastic insults her and will give you the option to leave (makes her angry and allows you to press R on her) or k*ll her (allows you to dismantle her body).
- 3. Present the Steak will open two options in which apologizing will make Shino a friend (demanding an apology leads back to the second option).

Cassie

The Lab Questline starts with Yona encountering the old man, Dr. Ed.
After his dialogue you have to fight 3 enemies (2 natives, 1 big native) at the entrance.
After the fight you can continue to enter the Laboratory where you have the fight Cassie’s body.
After this fight you can continue into the lab where a lot of high level androids are.
Keep running to the top-right (watch out for lasers) which leads to a green door where you meet Cassie.
She asks you to connect her brain and find her body which is located north of her capsule.
After connecting all her body parts together you have Cassie as a follower.
You can continue the Lab quest where you have to fight Dalman (this unlocks a machine).

Giant (Giantess)

Prerequisite: Three gems from the three bosses that drop it | Chaos Wastes.
Once you unlock the Gate then you should be able to head into the Chaos Wastes.
All the mobs are endgame and hard but you can just run past them until this point on the map.
She’s a tough boss but with correct kiting or another follower to help you should be able to beat her.
After you beat her you get 3 options.
- Leave will make her friendly, but you won’t be able to romance her, you can make her a slave if you press R on her.
- K*ll will k*ll her.
- In order to seduce you have to wait ~20 seconds in the cutscene that happens when you beat her.
The Giant does the most damage out of any entity.

Sally (and Takumi?)

Prerequisite: Unlocked Gate to the Chaos Wastes + decide Takumi’s fate.
Trigger this event in the Chaos Wastes in order to unlock the B*ndage Cave where Sally is located.
The cutscene that plays at the event has Male MC, Yona, Reika, and Keigo if he’s alive.
In the current patch there’s a placeholder event (“Under Developement”) at the same spot so just ignore that.
Inside the B*ndage Cave you can head north until you reach the center that has a lighter ground.
Go right until you reach the wall and go through the bottom prison door to enter Sally’s room.
From here you trigger the Sally fight where you have to defeat her.
Once you defeat her you get two choices.
Leave befriends her while punishing her will give you two more options, k*ll her or tie her in the cave.

Mermaid

Prerequisite: Craft a boat, fishing rod, 1 worm, and shell bra.
She’s located at the bottom-right of the map (south-east of the river canal).
Once you reach her location, dive for a rainbow coral and craft the rainbow-shell bra.
After you encounter the mermaid go to the island where you can fish for her bra.
Wait until you get a little fishing minigame and then you can get her scene.
To become her friend, gift her the rainbow seashell bra (If you don’t give her the rainbow seashell, she will disappear).
