How to make an NSFW channel on Discord
To make an NSFW channel on Discord, you must first open the desktop version of Discord.
Then, create a new channel, edit it by clicking on the gear icon, and enable “NSFW Channel”.

Keep in mind that you can only mark a channel as NSFW on the desktop version of Discord.
You won’t be able to mark a channel as NSFW on Discord mobile.

1. Open the desktop version of Discord & create a new channel
The first step is to open the desktop version of Discord.
Do not use Discord mobile as you won’t be able to mark channels as NSFW there.
This is because Discord mobile does not support it.
Firstly, you need to download Discord for Windows or Mac if you haven’t already.
To download Discord, go to https://discord.com/ and click on the download button.
Once you’ve downloaded Discord, open it and log in to your account.
Once you’re on Discord, navigate to your channel.
On your channel’s sidebar, click on the “+” icon next to the “Text Channels” header.
The “+” icon allows you to create a new Discord channel.

2. Click on “Create Channel”
After you’ve clicked on the “+” icon, the “Create Text Channel” pop-up will open.
Now, you need to select the channel type and choose a channel name.
You can also set the channel as private if you only want selected members and roles to access it.
Firstly, select the channel type under the “Channel Type” header.
For example, if you want to create a text channel, select “Text Channel”.
Next, you need to choose a channel name.
In this example, we’ll set the channel name as “NSFW”.
Once you’re done, click on “Create Channel” to create the channel.
There isn’t an option to mark the channel as NSFW here, so you’ll need to do it later on.
3. Edit the channel
After you’ve created a channel, you’ll see it on your server’s sidebar.

Next to the channel, you’ll see a gear icon.
To mark the channel as NSFW, you need to edit it.
Click on the gear icon to edit the channel.
4. Enable “NSFW Channel”
After you’ve clicked on the gear icon, you’ll land on the channel overview.
On the channel overview, you can edit the channel.
This includes the channel’s name and topic.
You can also enable “Slowmode”, which limits the number of messages a user can send in the channel based on a cooldown.
Under the “Slowmode” slider, you’ll see an “NSFW Channel” option.
Click on the “NSFW Channel” switch to mark the channel as NSFW.
Now, users will be required to confirm that they’re 18 or above to view it.
5. Save your changes
After you’ve enabled the “NSFW Channel” option, the “Save Changes” pop-up will appear.
The pop-up will appear at the bottom of the page.
To mark the channel as NSFW, you need to save your changes.
Otherwise, the channel will not be marked as NSFW yet.
To save your changes, click on “Save Changes”.
6. Click on “Continue”
After you’ve marked the channel as NSFW, users will be greeted with a warning when they open it.
You can check the warning by opening the channel.
Firstly, navigate to your server on the left sidebar.
Then, click on the channel that you’ve marked as NSFW to open it.
Now, you’ll see a warning that tells you that the channel contains adult content.
Here’s the full warning, “This channel contains adult content marked Not Safe For Work. Do you wish to proceed?”.
You can either click on “Nope” to exit the channel or click on “Continue” to access it.

- If you want to mark a channel as NSFW, click on the gear icon next to it.
