How to Open the Discord Console

The Discord console allows you to add custom code to modify the desktop app.

One way you can use the console for is to complete a Discord quest without having to stream a game.

But before you paste any code into the console, make sure that it’s from a trusted and reliable source.

Otherwise, your information might be stolen and your account can be compromised.

However, some users are having trouble with opening the console even though it worked in the past.

In this guide, you’ll learn how to open the Discord console (also known as the developer console), use it, and why is it not opening.

Why is the Discord Console not opening?

The Discord console is not opening because you didn’t enable the developer tools in the settings.json file.

You cannot enable it on the Discord app itself and you must open the settings.json file using a text editor.

The file can be found in your roaming settings in the File Explorer either in your C or D drive.

Enabling the console requires you to press CTRL + SHIFT + I on your keyboard after you’ve enabled developer tools.

How to open Discord Console

Here’s how to open the Discord developer console:

  1. Search for “%appdata%” using Windows Search and open it.
  2. Open “discord”, scroll down, and find “settings.json”.
  3. Right-click “settings.json” and open it with notepad.
  4. Copy and paste this line into the settings.json file:
