How to Fix “Pull up for precise seeking” on YouTube

Are you getting a “Pull up for precise seeking” pop-up on YouTube?

Whenever you view videos, the precise seeking feature will be active.

When you use the progress bar to skip certain parts of a video, a line of pictures will pop up.

In addition, the video will be paused and you cannot skip it.

Some users claimed that the problem only affects one specific Google account.

The precise seeking mode will not show up if they are using a guest account.

In this guide, you’ll learn why is YouTube asking you to pull up for precise seeking and how to fix it.

Why is YouTube asking me to pull up for precise seeking?

YouTube is asking you to pull up for precise seeking because there is a bug with the accessibility feature on the app.

According to the official Team YouTube Twitter account, they are looking into the bug.

Apparently, the precise seeking mode is enabled by default for Android users.

The mode is enabled even if a user doesn’t pull up.

Many users are complaining about the issue on Twitter, Reddit, and other platforms.

Joe Vargas on Twitter managed to get YouTube’s response.

Here is his tweet, “The precise seeking feature is not working correctly. It’s on by default and I can’t turn it off! It is happening even if I don’t pull up for it! Please fix it immediately!”.

Here’s a Reddit post by u/imgoinginsane22, “Suddenly, I am no longer able to skip to a specific point in the video by clicking on the progress bar. When I do that, it enters precise seeking mode until I exit it”.

Pull up for precise seeking

To fix “Pull up for precise seeking” on YouTube, you need to go to the accessibility settings and hide the player controls after 3 seconds.

After you’ve selected “After 3 seconds”, the precise seeking mode will no longer show up.

In addition, you’ll be able to skip certain parts of a video on YouTube again.

Here’s how to hide the player controls:

  1. Open the YouTube app.
  2. Tap on your profile picture.
  3. Go to your settings.
  4. Scroll down and select “Accessibility”.
  5. Enable “Accessibility player”.
  6. Select “Hide player controls”.
  7. Select “After 3 seconds”.

You can also select “After 5, 10, or 30 seconds” instead of “After 3 seconds”.

Now, you’ll be able to skip certain parts of a video without triggering the precise seeking mode.

This is a temporary workaround for the issue until YouTube fixes the bug.
