Are you looking to see your YouTube Comment history?
If you didn’t pause your watch history, you’ll be able to see the past videos that you’ve watched on YouTube.
This can be found on the YouTube app by navigating library > History.
You can even search for the title of the past videos that you’ve watched.
However, you might have realized that there isn’t a “Comment History” option on the app.
If that’s the case, how can you see your Comment history on YouTube?
In this guide, you’ll learn 3 easy steps to see your YouTube Comment history, even your comments from years ago.
How to See Your YouTube Comment History
To see your YouTube Comment history, you need to visit YouTube on a desktop.
Once you’re on the YouTube website, you can find your Comment history by clicking on the menu > History > Comments.
On your Comment history, you’ll be able to see all of your YouTube comments in one place.
The comments will be sorted based on the newest to oldest.
If you want to see your first comment, you need to scroll to the bottom of the page.
If your YouTube channel is new, or if you don’t comment that much, you’ll be able to find your first comment easily.
However, if you have an old YouTube channel, you’ll have to scroll for a long time before you can find it.
Here’s how to see your comment history on YouTube:
- Step #1: Visit YouTube on a desktop
- Step #2: Click on the menu and go to “History”
- Step #3: Select “Comments”
Step #1: Visit YouTube on a desktop

Open YouTube on a desktop > log in to your YouTube account.
To begin with, open YouTube on a desktop.
You can either search for “YouTube” on Google or go to youtube.com.
You won’t be able to do this on the YouTube app as the Comment history option is not available there.
The Comment history option is only available on YouTube desktop, and not on the mobile version.
Similarly, it won’t work on a mobile browser as well (e.g. Safari).
Hence, you need to open YouTube on a desktop.
Once you’re on the desktop version of YouTube, log in to your YouTube account.
After you’ve logged in to your YouTube account, you’ll land on the home page of YouTube.
You’ve successfully visited YouTube on a desktop and logged in to your account.
In the next step, you’ll learn how to find your Watch history, followed by your Comment history.
Step #2: Click on the menu and go to “History”

Click on the menu on the top navigation bar > History.
Once you’re on the home page of YouTube, you’ll see a menu icon on the top left corner.
Click on the menu to open it.
After you’ve clicked the menu, a navigation drawer will open.
There are multiple tabs on the navigation drawer—Home, Trending, Subscriptions, and more.
Under the “Library”, you’ll see the “History” tab.
The “History” tab is where you can access your Watch history, Community history, and Comment history.
Click on the “History” tab to open your Watch history on YouTube.
You’ve successfully navigated to your Watch history on YouTube.
In the final step, you’ll learn how to find and see your Comment history.
Step #3: Select “Comments”

On the right sidebar, select “Comments” to see your YouTube Comment history.
After you’ve clicked on the “History” tab (from the previous step), you’ll land on the “Watch history” page.
On the “Watch history” page, you’ll see every YouTube video that you’ve watched in the past.
Your Watch history is sorted by the newest to oldest, which means that you need to scroll down to view older videos that you’ve watched.
On the right side of the page, you’ll see a sidebar that’s titled “History type”.
Below it, there are options where you can clear your Watch history, pause it, or manage it.
On the bottom of the sidebar, there’s an option that says “Comments”.
The “Comments” option allows you to view your Comment history on YouTube.
Click on the “Comments” option to view your Comment history.
Once you’ve clicked on the “Comments” option, you’ll land on a page that’s titled “Your YouTube Comments”.
Under the page, you’ll be able to see all of your YouTube comments that you’ve made in the past.
Similar to your Watch history, your comments are sorted by the newest to oldest.
If you want to see the exact comment that you’ve made and its likes/replies, right-click the title of the video, then click on “Open link in new tab”.
After doing so, the video that you’ve commented on will open and your comment will be highlighted at the top of the comment section.
Congrats, you’ve successfully found your Comment history on YouTube.
How do I see my comment history on YouTube Mobile?
Unfortunately, you won’t be able to see your Comment history on YouTube mobile.
You can only see your Comment history on the desktop version of YouTube and not the app.
Currently, the mobile app of YouTube only allows you to see your Watch history.
Hence, if you want to see your Comment history on YouTube, you have to visit the desktop version of YouTube instead.
Then, follow the instructions above to see your past comments.
How do I know if someone replied to my YouTube comment?
To know if someone replied to your YouTube comment, you can either check your YouTube or your E-mail notifications.
Whenever someone replies to your comment on YouTube, you’ll receive a notification of it.
The notification can be found on the bell icon on the top navigation bar.
On the bell icon, there’ll be a text bubble indicating how many notifications you have.
Tap on the bell icon to view your notifications.
These notifications include comments on your videos, replies to your comments, and more.
Alternatively, you can check if someone replied to your YouTube comment on Gmail via the “Social” tab.
Conclusion
Finding your Watch history on YouTube is simple as you can access it on both the mobile and the desktop version of YouTube.
The only prerequisite is that your Watch history cannot be paused.
If you’ve paused it, you need to un-pause it in order to view it.
On the other hand, you can only find your Comment history on the desktop version of YouTube.
This is because your Comment history is unavailable on the YouTube app itself.
In the present, it’s not known whether YouTube will add a “Comment history” feature on the mobile app.
But for now, you can only access it on a desktop via your Google Activity.
