How to Fix “Sorry we’ve detected a problem with your installation” in League of Legends

To fix “Sorry we’ve detected a problem with your installation” in League of Legends, you need to change the game’s compatibility settings.

You can also try using the Hextech Repair Tool or resettingn the game without deleting it.

Fix 1: Change LoL’s compatibility settings

  1. Right-click “League of Legends” and select “Open file location”.
  2. Select the “Riot Games” directory on the URL field.
  3. Open the “League of Legends” folder and open the “Game” folder.
  4. Right-click “League of Legends.exe” and select “Properties”.
  5. Select “Compatibility” and tick “Run this program in compatibility mode for Windows 8”.
  6. Tick “Disable fullscreen optimizations”, select “Apply”, and select “OK”.

Note: If “Run this program in compatibility mode for Windows 8” is already ticked, untick it.

Fix 2: Use the Hextech Repair Tool

  1. Download the Hextech Repair Tool: https://support-leagueoflegends.riotgames.com/hc/en-us/articles/224826367-Automated-Troubleshooting-Hextech-Repair-Tool.
  2. Open the tool and select “Run”.
  3. Tick “Force repatch” and tick “Reinstall”.
  4. Select “Start”, wait for a while, and select “Okay”.

Note: If you get the “Install Path Not Found” error, select “Okay”, and select the “LeagueClient.exe” app.

Fix 3: Reset LoL without deleting it

  1. Right-click “League of Legends” and select “Open file location”.
  2. Select the “Riot Games” directory on the URL field.
  3. Rename the “League of Legends” folder to “League of Legends 1”.
  4. Launch League of Legends and select “Install”.
  5. Select “Already installed?”, select the “League of Legends 1” folder, and select “OK”.
