He has a lot of utility and his signature shield perk is strong.

A smash hit into it with the shield’s bounce back is an almost instant ring out.

He excels in 2v2 because of his utility but he’s not that strong in 1v1.

Neutral Air to Down Air is one of Steven’s strongest bread and butter combos.

The two moves can link to each other reliably.

You can jump during any frame of the Neutral Attack animation.

You can practice this by doing a Neutral Attack and jumping to get used to the timing.

Lastly, try adding in jabs followed by Neutral Attack and jump.

Steven Universe passive abilities

  • UNBREAKABLE BONDS – When Steven dodges, he makes a bubble around himself and his ally that acts as ARMOR. The bubble can absorb 3 hits, but its durability is shared between Steven and his ally. Steven’s bubble has a collision that will stop enemies from moving through it.

Steven’s Neutral Air Attack is one of his best moves.

You can use it while moving and fast fall with it.

This makes it a fast-approach tool that is can be spammed.

Setting up a shield is a strong tool too and when you press down after using Up Special, a low shield will be created.

Steven’s bubble shield is a good defensive tool, but it can also be used for offense.

You can use it in between hits as it won’t stale other moves.
