Weapon Camouflage, or Camo, is a colored pattern that is applied to weapons.
This will allow your weapons to blend into environments or display your achievements.
In some Call of Duty games, camouflages are unlocked by headshots.
In Call of Duty: Black Ops, they can be bought for 250 points each.
However, Gold Camouflage costs 50,000 points and it’s available after you’ve prestiged 14 times.
In MW2, camo can be unlocked by completing challenges like headshots, one-shots, or aircraft destruction.

How to unlock camos in Modern Warfare 2
To unlock camos in Modern Warfare 2, you need first to get a weapon to a certain level.
After you’ve got a weapon to a certain level, you’ll unlock its challenge to unlock the camo.
Lastly, you need to complete the challenge to unlock the camo.
Here is how to unlock a base camo:
- Get a weapon to a certain level (e.g. M4 to level 8) to unlock a challenge.
- Complete the challenge to unlock the camo (e.g. 40 eliminations while ADS).
For example, if you want to get the Desert Hybrid Camo for the M4, you need to get it to level 8 first.
Once you’ve got it to level 8, you’ll unlock the challenge to get the camo.
The challenge is to get 40 eliminations while ADS (Aim Down Sights) with the M4.

What is the hardest camo to get in Modern Warfare?
The hardest camo to get in Modern Warfare is the Orion Camo.
To get it, you need to unlock the base and completionist camos for every weapon.
MW2 currently has more than 50 weapons.
Here is the full process to unlock it:
- Unlock the base camos for every weapon.
- Unlock the completionist (gold, platinum, polyatomic, etc.) camos for every weapon.
The Orion Camo has a mixture of purple and blue colors that looks like a Nebula.
Once you’ve unlocked it, future weapons that have Polyatomic unlocked will have Orion unlocked as well.
