How to Verify Your Binance Account

Before you can buy a cryptocurrency on Binance, you need to verify your account.

This is part of the Know Your Customer (KYC) process.

The process helps to prevent money laundering and fraud.

Some cryptocurrency exchanges like Binance allow you to skip the KYC process.

However, you can only buy a cryptocurrency after you’ve completed it.

Cryptocurrency regulation is still very new, so it might change in the future.

In this guide, you’ll learn how to verify your Binance account.

How to verify your Binance account

The KYC process on the Binance exchange has two parts.

This includes the basic verification and the intermediate verification.

The basic verification requires you to provide your information.

This includes your nationality, date of birth, name, and address.

To use Binance, you need to be 18 years old or above.

You won’t be able to create an account if you’re below 18.

However, you can ask someone else to create an account for you.

After you’ve completed the basic verification process, you need to complete the intermediate verification process.

The intermediate verification process requires you to verify your identity by uploading a document such as your ID.

Here’s how to verify your account on Binance:

  1. Verify your email
  2. Finish the basic verification
  3. Select a document type
  4. Finish the intermediate verification

1. Verify your email

Get started on Binance here: https://www.binance.com/en/register?ref=73583477 or use “73583477” as the referral ID.

To begin with, download the Binance app if you haven’t already.

You can download Binance on the App Store or the Google Play Store.

You can also use Binance on a desktop.

If you’re using Binance on a desktop, you can use this link to create an account: https://www.binance.com/en/register?ref=73583477.

Once you’re on the Binance app tap on “Sign Up / Log In”.

Then, tap on “Register” at the top of the page.

After you’ve tapped on “Register”, the registration page will open.

Enter your email, choose a password, use “73583477” as the referral ID, and tap on the arrow icon.

Binance email verification

After you’ve tapped on the arrow icon, you’ll land on the “Email Auth” page.

On the “Email Auth” page, you need to enter an email verification code.

Firstly, open your inbox and find the verification code.

Once you’ve found the verification code, copy and paste it on the “Email verification code” field.

If you can’t find the code, you can resend it after a minute.

Make sure to check your junk or spam folder as it might have landed there.

Once you’ve pasted the code, tap on “Submit” to verify your email.

2. Finish the basic verification

Once you’ve verified your email, you’ll land on the welcome page.

On the welcome page, you’ll see that the “Create your account” step is ticked.

This means that you’ve completed it.

The second step is to verify your identity, which takes about 2 minutes.

You can skip this step by tapping on “Skip”, however, it’s not recommended.

This is because you can only buy a cryptocurrency on Binance if you’ve verified your identity.

To begin the verification process, tap on “Verify Now”.

Binance basic verification

After you’ve tapped on “Verify Now”, you’ll land on the “Basic Verification” page.

The basic verification requires you to provide your information.

Firstly, tap on the “Nationality” dropdown box and select your Nationality.

For example, if you’re from Singapore, select “Singapore”.

Secondly, enter your first name, last name, and middle name.

Thirdly, enter your date of birth on the “Date of Birth” field.

Keep in mind that you need to be 18 years old or above to create an account.

Lastly, tap on “Continue” to proceed to the next step.

The final step to complete the basic verification is to provide your address.

Firstly, enter your address in the “Street Address” field.

Then, enter your postal code and the city that you live in.

Next, tap on “Continue” to finish the basic verification process.

3. Select a document type

After you’ve tapped on “Continue”, you’ll land on the “Verified” screen.

This means that you’ve successfully completed the basic verification process.

However, you’re not done yet.

To have full access to Binance’s features, you need to complete the intermediate verification.

Otherwise, you won’t be able to buy a cryptocurrency.

To begin the intermediate verification process, tap on “Go Verify” on top of the “Back to Homepage” button.

Binance intermediate verification

After you’ve tapped on “Go Verify”, the “Intermediate Verification” page will open.

On the page, you need to select a document type to verify your identity.

There are 3 document types that you can choose from.

This includes “ID Card”, “Passport”, or “Driver’s License”.

If you want to upload your ID, tap on “ID Card”.

Then, tap on “Continue” to go to the uploading page.

4. Finish the intermediate verification

Binance ID verification

If you’ve selected the “ID Card” document type, you need to upload your ID.

You’re required to upload a photo of the front and back of your ID.

Firstly, take a front and back photo of your ID.

Alternatively, you can scan your ID using a scanner and save it as a JPEG or PNG file.

Make sure that your ID is clear and centered.

Then, tap on “Continue” once you’ve uploaded the front and back of your ID.

Binance photo verification

After you’ve uploaded your ID, you need to upload a portrait photo of yourself.

Firstly, tap on “Upload portrait photo”.

You can either take a selfie of yourself or upload a portrait photo of yourself from your gallery.

If you’re taking a photo of yourself, make sure that your face is centered, well-lit, and visible.

This is to prevent facial recognition errors.

Once you’ve taken or uploaded a portrait photo of yourself, tap on “Continue”.

Binance advanced verification verified

After you’ve tapped on “Continue”, you’ll land on the “Advanced verification Verified” page.

This means that you’ve successfully completed the intermediate verification process.

Now that you’ve completed both the basic and the intermediate verification process, you’ll have full access to Binance’s features.

You’ll now be able to buy and sell cryptocurrencies on the exchange.

Tap on “Back to Homepage” to go to the homepage of Binance.

From there, you can buy a cryptocurrency by tapping on “Buy” and tapping on the cryptocurrency that you want to buy.

Then, provide your debit or credit card information to buy the cryptocurrency.

You’ve successfully learned how to verify your account on Binance!

Conclusion

Verifying your Binance account is the first step to trade on the exchange.

Unlike other exchanges, verifying your identity on Binance is instantaneous.

In other words, you don’t have to wait for your verification to be approved.

However, if you’re having trouble with the verification process (e.g. identity verification failed), you can contact Binance for assistance.

To do so, you can start a live chat with one of Binance’s support representatives here: https://www.binance.com/en/chat.
