How to Fix Connection Lost in MultiVersus

Are you getting a “Connection Lost” error message in MultiVersus?

Here’s the second part of the error, “You have lost your connection to the internet. Try checking your networking settings”.

Even if you have an internet connection, you might not be able to connect to the game.

Many users are complaining about this issue on Twitter.

Here’s one of the tweets, “Whenever I launch the game on my PS4, a connection lost error comes up on the loading screen. Please fix this ASAP @multiversus”.

And another tweet, “Anyone else receiving the connection lost error when trying to get into the game?”.

In this guide, you’ll learn why is your connection lost in MultiVersus and how to fix it to play online.

Why is my connection lost in MultiVersus?

MultiVersus connection lost

Your connection is lost in MultiVersus because the servers are down or because of a glitch.

Otherwise, you either don’t have an internet connection or your internet speed is too slow.

You can check if the game is down by going to MultiVersus’ Twitter page.

If there’s an issue with the game, they will tweet about it.

How to fix connection lost in MultiVersus

To fix the connection lost in MultiVersus, you can try verifying the game files.

You can also try switching your Wi-Fi network if you’re connected to one or deleting the “SaveGames” folder.

If the servers are down, you need to wait for them to be back up.

If there’s an issue in the game, MultiVersus will tweet about it on Twitter.

1. Use a free VPN

  1. Go to https://protonvpn.com/download.
  2. Click on “Download Proton VPN”.
  3. Open Proton VPN.
  4. Create a new account.
  5. Connect to a free VPN (e.g. US-FREE#1).
  6. Launch MultiVersus

I’ve personally tried this method and I’m able to connect to MultiVersus.

The “Connection Lost” error might be due to a temporary IP address or SEA regions block.

Hence, using a VPN will bypass the block.

2. Wait for MultiVersus to fix the issue

If there’s an ongoing issue in the game, you need to wait for MultiVersus to fix it.

You can check the MultiVersus Twitter page for more information.

For example, in July, MultiVersus tweeted that they are investigating the log-in issue.

The login issue affected many users and some of them are unable to connect to the game.

A few hours after, MultiVersus tweeted that the issue has been fixed for the majority of users.

However, they are still working on a fix for the remaining affected.

Hence, you need to wait patiently for a fix to be implemented.

3. Verify the game files

  1. Open Steam and go to your library.
  2. Right-click “MultiVersus”.
  3. Click on “Properties…”.
  4. Select “Local Files”.
  5. Click on “Verify integrity of game files…”.

After you’ve clicked on “Verify integrity of game files…”, wait for the process to complete.

Once the verification is complete, try starting MultiVersus and see if you can connect to the game.

4. Switch your Wi-Fi network

If you’re stuck in offline mode, it can be due to your internet connection.

If you don’t have an internet connection, you won’t be able to play MultiVerse in online mode.

To fix this, you can try switching your Wi-Fi network.

After you’ve switched your Wi-Fi network, restart the game and see if you can connect to it.

5. Delete the “SaveGames” folder

Note: Only do this if you haven’t made much progress in the game!

  1. Search for “%appdata%” using the Windows search bar.
  2. Click on “AppData” from the URL field.
  3. Go to “Local”.
  4. Scroll down and click on “MultiVersus”.
  5. Click on “Saved”.
  6. Delete “SavedGames”.

After you’ve deleted the “SavedGames” folder, try starting MultiVersus again.

If you’re prompted to provide your age, make sure to select “18 years old” or above.
