How to Hide Your Subscribers on YouTube

If you’ve recently started a YouTube channel, you might want to hide your subscribers.

This is because you’ll have little to no subscribers, so there’s no point in displaying it.

In addition, having a low-subscriber count might prevent your viewers from subscribing to your channel.

Viewers might relate your low-subscriber count to low-quality content.

However, if you have a large channel, you might want to hide your subscriber count as well.

For example, if you have a lot of subscribers but very few views, viewers might think that your channel is dead.

Hence, you’re better off hiding your subscribers than displaying them on your channel.

In this guide, you’ll learn how to hide your subscribers on YouTube.

How to hide your subscribers on YouTube

To hide your subscribers on YouTube, you need to visit YouTube Studio on your desktop.

On YouTube Studio, navigate to the “Advanced settings” tab of your channel and disable your subscriber count.

By default, your subscribers will be displayed under your YouTube channel’s name.

After you’ve disabled your subscriber count, your subscribers will no longer be displayed on your channel.

You can re-enable your subscriber count at any time on YouTube Studio.

Keep in mind that you won’t be able to hide your subscribers on the YouTube Studio mobile app.

This is because the YouTube Studio mobile app does not support it.

Hence, if you want to change your YouTube channel’s settings like disabling your subscriber count, you have to use YouTube Studio on a desktop.

Here’s how to hide your subscribers on YouTube:

  1. Go to YouTube Studio on your desktop
  2. Click on “Channel”
  3. Click on “Advanced settings” & disable your subscriber count

Visit YouTube Studio on your desktop and click on “Settings”.

The first step is to go to YouTube Studio on your desktop.

Firstly, open a browser (e.g. Chrome) and navigate to the YouTube Studio website.

You can either do so by searching for “YouTube Studio” on Google or visiting it via studio.youtube.com.

If you’re using a mobile device, you have to use a browser for this as well.

Do not use the YouTube studio mobile app as you won’t be able to hide your subscribers there.

That being said, it’s best that you use a desktop for this as the YouTube Studio website is not responsive on mobile devices.

Once you’re on YouTube Studio, log in to your YouTube channel if you haven’t already.

Then, you’ll land on your channel dashboard.

On the left of your channel dashboard, you’ll see a navigation menu.

At the navigation menu, you’ll see a “Settings” tab.

Click on the “Settings” tab and proceed to the next step to learn how to navigate to your channel settings.

2. Click on “Channel”

On the left of the settings, you’ll see a sidebar with multiple tabs including “General”, “Channel”, “Upload defaults”, and more.

The “General” tab contains the “Default units” setting where you can change the currency unit that you want to see on YouTube Studio.

Next, the “Channel” tab allows you to change the basic information of your channel, advanced settings, and features.

You can change the default information of your new videos on the “Upload defaults” tab.

The tab that you want to navigate to is the “Channel” tab as it allows you to change your channel settings.

It also allows you to hide or show your subscribers on YouTube.

Once you’re on your channel settings, you’ll land on your basic info.

On your basic info, you’ll be able to edit your country of residence and channel keywords.

However, since you’re looking to hide your subscriber count, click on the “Advanced settings” tab at the top navigation bar.

On the “Advanced settings” page, you’ll be able to tell YouTube whether your channel is made for kids and other settings.

Scroll down the page until you see the “Subscriber count” header.

Under the “Subscriber count” header, you’ll see an option that says “Display the number of people subscribed to my channel”.

The “Display the number of people subscribed to my channel” option is enabled by default.

To hide your subscribers, you need to disable that option.

Simply click on the checkbox to disable the “Display the number of people subscribed to my channel” option.

Lastly, click on the “Save” button at the bottom of the page to save your changes.

Once you’ve saved your changes, navigate to your YouTube channel to check whether your subscriber count is hidden.

If your subscriber count is hidden below your channel’s name, it means that you’ve successfully hidden your subscribers!

Is it good to hide subscribers on YouTube?

Hiding your subscribers is good if you have a low subscriber count, or if your views-to-subscribers ratio is low.

However, if you have a lot of subscribers and a good views-to-subscribers ratio, there’s no point in hiding your subscribers.

If you have a lot of subscribers, it’s a good indicator to your viewers that your channel produces high-quality content.

As a result, your viewers are more likely to subscribe to your channel.
