How to Fix Instagram Runtime Exception

Are you getting an “Instagram” runtime exception error?

Vivo’s Wisdom Engine is an engine that maintains CPU and memory.

Here’s the second part of the error, “Instagram is experiencing crashes”.

Followed by, “Please contact Instagram customer service for a solution.

It typically affects Android devices like the Vivo phone because of incompatibility issues.

It can also be caused by the latest Instagram update which fails to support a version of a device.

In this guide, you’ll learn how to fix an Instagram runtime exception by Vivo’s Wisdom Engine and when it’s experiencing crashes.

What is an Instagram runtime exception?

An Instagram runtime exception happens when a script is running that is not checked by the compiler.

Since it’s not required to be checked by the computer, it’s not required to be managed in the code.

As a result, the app will crash abruptly and you’ll be prompted to contact Instagram support.

The error message usually happens on Vivo devices you’ll be notified via the Wisdom engine.

If you’ve recently updated Instagram or your Vivo device and you’re getting the runtime exception error, the latest update might have caused it.

If so, either Instagram or Vivo will release a follow-up update to fix it.

How to fix Instagram runtime exception

To fix an Instagram runtime exception, you need to clear the app’s cache.

You can also try updating or uninstalling and reinstalling Instagram.

If all else fails, you can downgrade Instagram by downloading an older version of it (for Android devices only).

If Instagram is down, you need to wait for 24 to 48 hours for it to be back up.

Fix 1: Clear Instagram’s cache

  • For Android: Open the Settings app > Apps > Instagram > Storage > Clear Cache.
  • For iOS: Open the Settings app > General > iPhone storage > Instagram > Offload App.

Note: Instead of clearing Instagram’s cache, you can uninstall and reinstall the app instead (its cache will be cleared and the app will be updated to the latest version.

Fix 2: Update Instagram

  1. Open the App Store or Google Play Store.
  2. Search for “Instagram”.
  3. Tap on “Update” to update Instagram.

Note: If there isn’t an update, you need to wait for one. If the latest update contains bugs, Instagram will release a follow-up update to fix them.

Fix 3: Download an older version of Instagram

  1. Go to https://instagram.en.uptodown.com/android/versions.
  2. Download an older version of Instagram.
  3. Use the older version of Instagram and try uploading a video/Reel.
