How to Get Originally Known As Badge on Discord

To enhance user experience and provide greater control over identity, Discord is implementing changes to its username system.

Previously, usernames were case-sensitive and accompanied by a four-digit discriminator.

This makes it difficult to add someone because you need to include their discriminator.

Discord aims to simplify usernames by getting rid of discriminators and introducing unique usernames instead.

This allows you to add friends while using their preferred names across the platform.

Since the update is new, you need to claim your preferred username before someone else does.

In this guide, you’ll learn how to get the Originally Known As badge on Discord (without Nitro).

What is the Originally Known As Badge on Discord?

The Originally Known As Badge on Discord is a badge that’s given to you after you’ve set your new Discord username.

Discord made a change to its username system by getting rid of discriminators.

For example, if your username is previously “test#1234”, you can change it to “test” (if it’s available).

You’ll get a notification on Discord when you can change your username.

After you’ve changed it, the Originally Known As Badge will automatically be displayed on your profile.
