Does Overwatch 2 Have Aim Assist?

Are you playing Overwatch 2 on your PS4, PS5, or Xbox and you don’t have aim assist?

Controllers are supposed to have aim assist enabled by default.

However, many players claimed that the feature does not trigger.

Overwatch 2 was released on October 4, 2022.

Since its release, the game has had multiple known issues.

Some of the known issues are server disconnection, cosmetics, items, currency not showing up, and others.

In this guide, you’ll learn if Overwatch 2 has Aim Assist in PC lobbies for controllers and why is it not working.

Does Overwatch 2 Have Aim Assist?

Yes, Overwatch 2 has Aim Assist for console lobbies.

If you’re playing the game on a console (e.g., PS4, PS5, Xbox), Aim Assist will be enabled by default.

When you aim at a target, your crosshair will slow down.

However, if you’re playing in a PC lobby, Aim Assist will be disabled by default and you cannot enable it.

Even if you’re playing on a console, Aim Assist will not be triggered if you’re in a PC lobby.

Does Overwatch 2 Have Aim Assist in PC lobbies?

Overwatch 2 does not have Aim Assist in PC lobbies.

You won’t have Aim Assist even if you’re using a controller or playing on a console in a PC lobby.

If you aim at a target, your crosshair will not automatically slow down.

In addition, if you aim at a target and press “R2” on your controller, nothing will happen.

To avoid playing in a PC lobby, you need to disable cross-play or don’t join a lobby with your friend whose playing on a PC.

Why is Aim Assist not working in Overwatch 2?

Aim assist is not working in Overwatch 2 because you’re playing in a PC lobby.

If one person is playing the game on a PC, Aim Assist will be disabled for everyone.

Even if everyone else is playing on a console using a controller, they won’t have access to Aim Assist.

Many console players are furious about this because it’s unfair to them.

“I think having no aim assist on PC lobbies is a big disadvantage. PC can already aim better naturally and now you take away a controller’s only advantage to keep up with the PC lobbies. The fights are just unfair at that point”.

“I only realised this recently and I searched it up and their reasoning was “to balance it out” by that they mean make console players useless against PC”.

“Being cross-platform is a joke. Just make separate queues for those who get all worked up about controller players”.
