Is Ruby Homophobic?

RWBY is an American anime-style web series created by Monty Oum for Rooster Teeth.

It’s set in the fictional world of Remnant where young warriors called “Huntsmen” and “Huntresses” are trained to protect their world from monsters known as Grimm.

The series is named after the four main characters Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna, and Yang Xiao Long, and their respective theme colors.

Fans started labelling Ruby as a homophobe after an episode where she went on an angry rant.

What is the Ruby Homophobic meme?

Ruby Homophobic is a meme that originated from Volume 9, Chapter 07 of RWBY.

In the episode, she said “Good for you by the way, we’re all so happy for you” while looking at Blake Belladonna and Yang Xiao Long.

The rant was taken by some fans as Ruby being homophobic.

It was originally an anime-style web series that Monty Oum created, with Miles Luna and Kerry Shawcross assisting in the writing and planning.

She designed her weapon, the Crescent Rose, which is a High-Caliber Sniper-Scythe.

In the “Red” Trailer, Ruby first appeared when she visited her mother, Summer Rose’s grave.

In Volume 9, Chapter 07 of RWBY, Ruby had enough and goes on a rant.

In Volume 9, Chapter 07 of RWBY, Ruby goes on a rant about being a leader.

“Why are you asking me? Just because I’m a leader?”.

“Because I’m just supposed to have something to say? Because I don’t”.

“I mean, why do I have to be the leader anyway? Why do I always have to be the one to pick people up?”.

“What about me? No time, right? Gotta get home. Gotta help Sean. Gotta find someone who isn’t gonna just screw everything up”.

“Gotta stay positive, right? Smiles all around. Maybe even finally get our feelings sorted out”.

“Good for you, by the way. We’re all so happy for you”.

Some fans agreed with the depiction while others disagreed with it.

User @VA_Kay_Six replied, “Nah not quite like that. Ruby just got blasted by PTSD because apparently Neo can see through all of her mirages. Ruby is just at a breaking point because she feels like shes done nothing but fail and its really grinding away at her mental state”.

User @Temporal_Vault replied, “Yeah this is pretty much it. They’re trapped in some Alice in Wonderland type thing and while Blake and Yang made out in the corner. Ruby, as the team leader, has had enough of the pressure and expectations left on her and just wants to get back to Remnant to stop the apocalypse”.
