3 Steps to Update Nvidia Drivers

An Nvidia driver allows your games and your Nvidia graphics card to communicate with each other.

If your driver is outdated, you may experience performance issues in-game.

Performance issues include lag spikes, screen tearing, and low FPS.

In addition, some games do not support an outdated driver.

Hence, you must ensure that you always have the latest Nvidia drivers.

In this guide, you’ll learn how to update your Nvidia Drivers in 3 easy steps using the Nvidia GeForce experience app.

How to update Nvidia Drivers

To update Nvidia Drivers, you need to download the Nvidia GeForce experience app.

After you’ve downloaded it, launch it, and sign up or create a new Nvidia account.

Lastly, select “Drivers”, select “Check for Updates”, and click on the “Download” button to update your drivers.

Note: Your PC may flicker during the process, so make sure that you’re not playing a game while you’re updating your drivers.

1. Download the Nvidia GeForce experience

  1. Go to https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/geforce-experience/.
  2. Click on the “Download Now” button.

Note: The Nvidia GeForce Experience app allows you to keep your drivers up to date, optimize your game settings, share videos, and more.

2. Log in to Nvidia GeForce Experience

  1. Launch the Nvidia GeForce Experience app.
  2. Log in or create a new Nvidia account.

Note: You can also log in with Google, Discord, Apple, Facebook, QQ, or WeChat.

3. Check for updates and download the latest driver

How to update Nvidia Drivers
  1. Select “Drivers” on the top navigation bar.
  2. Select “Check for updates”.
  3. Click on the “Download” button to update your Nvidia Drivers!

Note: Your PC may flicker during the update, so make sure that you’re not playing a game while you’re updating your Nvidia driver.

Updating your driver can fix performance issues like lag and low FPS.

In rare cases, some games might not support the latest version of the Nvidia driver.

If that’s the case, you can roll back the update by opening the Device Manager > Display adapters > Nvidia GPU > Properties > Driver > Roll Back Driver.

After you’ve selected “Roll Back Driver”, your driver will be reverted to the previous version.
