How to Fix No Edit Option on Facebook Post

Is there no edit option on your Facebook post?

Is the edit option not showing or missing on Facebook?

The option is gone after the latest Facebook update.

Many users are complaining that they are unable to edit their old posts.

“I can edit on my laptop but not on my phone after the latest update”.

“So when did this change happen? I can’t edit it even after this?”.

Update as of late August 2022: Facebook has brought back the “Edit post” option.

To fix the no edit option on your Facebook post, you need to download an older version of Facebook or uninstall and reinstall the app.

Method 1: Check if Facebook is down

If there’s no edit option on your Facebook post, Facebook might be down.

To check if the app is down, you can go to DownDetector.com/status/Facebook.

Once you’re on the website, check if there’s a spike in the graph.

If there is, it means that Facebook is probably down and you need to wait for a few hours for it to be back up.

You can also search for the issue on Twitter (e.g. can’t edit Facebook posts).

If there are a lot of people tweeting about it, it means that you’re not the only one experiencing the issue.

Method 2: Download an older version of Facebook

To fix the no edit option on Facebook, you need to download an older version of the app.

This is because the latest version of the app might have removed the edit option.

To download an older version of Facebook, go to https://facebook.en.uptodown.com/android.

Once you’re on the website, scroll down to “Older Versions” and select an older version of the app.

Lastly, click on “Download” to download the older version of Facebook.

Do note that this method only works for Android devices.

Method 3: Use another device

The third method is to use another device.

If you’re using Facebook on a mobile device, try using it on a PC.

On the other hand, if you’re using Facebook on a PC, try using it on a mobile device.

Some users reported that they managed to edit their posts by using Facebook on their PC.

Method 4: Update Facebook

The fourth method is to update Facebook to the latest version.

To do so, visit the App Store/Google Play Store, search for “Facebook”, and tap on “Update”.

If you don’t see an update, you need to wait for one.

Some Facebook updates contain bugs like the missing edit option.

If so, Facebook will release a follow-up update soon to fix it.

Method 5: Uninstall and reinstall Facebook

Uninstalling and reinstalling Facebook is a standard troubleshooting method.

When you uninstall and reinstall Facebook, the app’s cache will be deleted.

Deleting the app’s cache can fix common issues on it like logging in, searching, and posting.

Uninstalling and reinstalling Facebook also updates it to the latest version.
